Event structure

  1. Idea Submission: Teams must submit a PPT (maximum 5 slides, excluding team details) with the following details:
    Slide 1: Team Information
    Slide 2: Domain and Theme Focus
    Slide 3: Problem and Proposed Solution
    Slide 4: Technical Details and Scalability
    Slide 5: Concise Summary and Impact
    Details are provided here-
    Round 1: Abstract Framework for OLabs Hackathon Idea Submission

(180-250 words)

Slide 1: Team Information
• Track: Student / Professional
• List team name, team members, their roles, and mention the team lead first.
Slide 2: Domain and Theme Focus
Domain and Theme Alignment (20-30 words)
• Mention the theme you are focusing on (e.g., AI-Powered Virtual Labs, Blockchain for Lab
Integrity, etc.).
• Briefly explain how your idea fits into the chosen theme.
Slide 3: Problem and Proposed Solution
Problem Statement (30-50 words)
• Clearly describe the problem your idea aims to solve in the context of the OLabs platform.
• State the challenges such as accessibility, security, functionality, or user experience in virtual
education and labs.
Proposed Solution (40-60 words)
• Provide an overview of the solution you are proposing.
• Mention how your idea leverages technology (e.g., AI, VR, blockchain) to enhance the
OLabs platform, improve functionality, and solve the identified problems.
Slide 4: Technical Details and Scalability
Technical Approach (30-40 words)
• Outline the technical steps or tools you'll use to implement your solution.
• Mention the technologies or methodologies (e.g., AI models, data analytics, IoT) involved in
the development.

Scalability (30-50 words)
• Discuss the scalability of your solution and how it can be expanded or applied across various
educational settings.
• Highlight the potential impact your solution can have on the OLabs platform, including
improvements in accessibility, engagement, or learning outcomes.
Slide 5 - Concise Summary and Impact

Conclusion (20-30 words)
• Summarize the core benefit of your proposed solution.
• Reinforce the expected positive impact on OLabs and virtual education.
Instructions:
• Abstracts should be submitted in PDF or Word format via Devfolio.
• The organizers will evaluate the abstracts based on their relevance to the theme, originality,
feasibility, and potential impact.
• The best ideas will be awarded prizes and may receive further support for development and
implementation.

  1. Prototype Building: Shortlisted teams will develop their solutions in offline finale round at the Amritapuri (Kerala) campus.

Judgement: All the shortlisted eContent will be judged.

The OLabs Hackathon is a prestigious national-level technology event jointly organized by Amrita School of Computing and ACM Chapter, and Amrita Center for Research in Analytics, Technologies & Education (Amrita CREATE), Amritapuri.

💻 Core Goal: Enhancing Olabs with creative, practical, scalable, technological solutions.

Problem Statement

Design and develop innovative, scalable, and technology-driven solutions to enhance the OLabs platform, addressing key challenges in virtual education. Focus on improving the accessibility, functionality, and effectiveness of virtual labs while ensuring security, reliability, and data integrity.

Themes

Participants can explore and contribute to a diverse set of themes, such as:

  1. AI-Powered Virtual Labs: Leveraging artificial intelligence to improve lab experiences.
  2. Cybersecurity in Virtual Labs: Ensuring secure and safe online learning environments.
  3. Blockchain for Lab Integrity: Using blockchain technology to maintain data authenticity and integrity.
  4. OLabs Development or/and Integration of Virtual Reality (VR)/Augmented Reality (AR): Developing OLabs simulations, games, and VR/3D experiences for any school subject, including Sciences, Mathematics, and other disciplines; or/and enhancing existing virtual labs with immersive technologies.
  5. Data Science & Analytics for Virtual Labs: Applying analytics to optimize and personalize lab usage.
  6. Collaborative Learning: Building features that enable peer-to-peer and group learning.
  7. IoT and Virtual Labs: Integrating IoT devices to expand lab functionality.
  8. Large Language Model (LLM): To enhance the OLabs platform with NLP features.

Subject Areas

Participants can develop solutions related to:
• Science, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
• Computer Science and Programming
• Entrepreneurship Development
• Indian Sign Language

Who can Participate?

• Secondary and Higher secondary school students (8th to 12th grade)
• College students (UG and PG (including PhD))
• Professionals

Why Participate?

• Create, innovate, and develop solutions to enhance OLabs
• Make a difference in the virtual lab experience across subjects
• Collaborate with brilliant minds
• Win exciting prizes and recognition
• Network with seasoned experts

Rules

Registration: Registration must be completed via the designated website. Each team must participate through a single account.
Team Structure: Teams of 2-4 members, all from either school or college or industry (no mixed-category teams). You can only be part of one team. Team changes are not allowed after the idea submission phase.
• Content should be in English.
• Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham will retain a copy of all entries, and the submitted eContent may be used for educational purposes, including dissemination through
online and offline modes.
• Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham reserves all rights to modify the rules and dates.
